The
hardware-design
AppBlade and
AppBear
solution responds to the
issues facing design teams and their corporations. By delivering both super
high-performance processing and scalability on a single device, many design
challenges are effectively solved. The rapid rate of change in technology and
standards demands a solution that is completely scalable and reduces inventory
risks and NRE costs - the
AppBlade and
AppBear
deliver.
AppServer Solutions is a
company built on delivering maximum customer value and ongoing innovation
throughout all of our product lines. We can only be better tomorrow than we are
today by working closely with our customers and anticipating their needs.
AppServer's job is to continue to expand our capabilities and our partnerships,
so we can continue to be a strategic partner for our client companies.
MARKETS SERVED
Appserver Solutions,
Inc. provides
solutions for computational, data processing and network-intensive applications
that fall into three categories: commercial systems, enterprise systems and
Military markets.
PARTNERSHIPS and ALLIANCES
AppServer
Solutions is a member of several industry groups including PICMG® (PCI
Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group). AppServer Solutions is also a premier
member of the Intel® Communications Alliance (ICA).
MANAGEMENT
Appserver Solutions, Inc. was started in 2003 by the
CEO, Alan Prouse, and the CTO, Dr. Marina Murzina. The Company is privately
owned and qualifies as a small business.
Today we have a dedicated group of electrical engineers, software engineers, and
mathematicians and physicists in the areas of imaging, audio processing, gas
dynamics, parallel methods of computation, and non-linear systems, etc.

Mr. Prouse and Dr. Murzina have been working
together for 6 years. They have an established record of successfully bringing
research & development projects to implementation, as well as creating a perfect
collaboration environment and managing teams of scientists, programmers and
hardware engineers. They have
developed technical and business relationships with Motorola, Inc., Avnet,
Inc., Magma, Inc. and other companies.
Mr. Alan Prouse, currently the CEO and an Executive member
of the Board of Directors of Appserver Solutions, Inc.,
has over 30 years of experience with embedded systems design, ATM architectures
and artificial intelligence. A physicist by training, he has worked on a vast array of
CPU-based and CPU-less architectures. He has designed FPGA-based network
processors, proton accelerators and airline entertainment systems. Mr. Prouse
has an extensive experience in
Ray-tracing Image Processing.
In 1985, Mr. Prouse founded Bear Creek Group to
provide high speed printing to Avery International. He had a team of five programmers and fifteen
mechanical designers.
Prior to Bear Creek Group, Mr. Prouse headed a consulting business specializing
in hardware drivers. He worked for Harmon industries designing and programming
railroad signal control, Saftran designing and programming railroad dispatching,
Hughes Aviation/Rockwell international in-flight entertainment systems for
Boeing 747's, and for Optivus doing real-time embedded systems design for the
Proton Accelerator at Loma Linda University. The common thread through all this
experience is that Mr. Prouse has taken subroutines that executed slowly in a
general-purpose computer and transitioned them into a hardware solution, making
each system or application perform faster.
Education:
BS in Physics, University of California Santa Cruz: Santa Cruz, California.
Dr. Marina Murzina, the CTO and an Executive member
of the Board of Directors of Appserver
Solutions, has a background and experience in theoretical astrophysics,
physics, mathematics, advanced image processing and parallel computations. She
has published 35 scientific papers in the major physics journals of the US and
Europe (see Selected Publications) concerned with relativistic gas dynamics,
radiating shock waves in supernova stars, neutrino radiation from the collapsing
stars, plasma confinement, nuclear physics, hyperspectral imaging and
nano-technology.
Dr. Murzina has led multiple projects developing pattern recognition, logical algebra, and network optimization applications,
particularly parallel computations and the variable bit-width hardware design.
Dr. Murzina has many years of management experience in academia and private companies
supervising groups of scientists (Ph.D.s) and engineers.
As a senior scientist at Brookhaven Technology Group, Inc., she has served as a Principal Investigator in
the Phase-I 2003-04 DoD SBIR project “HyperSpectral Data Cube Processor with
High Speed and Efficiency” implemented on an FPGA platform.
Education:
Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, specialty Theoretical Astrophysics, Russian
Academy of Sciences,
Masters in Physics from Moscow State University, Russia, Diploma with Honor.
